Black Glittery Chevron French Manicure; 2012

Hello everyone! It’s crazy how today is the last day of February already! To end this month, I thought I’d share this very simple Chevron French Manicure with you. ♥ This was done over 10 years ago.

Very simple and sparkly.

I actually took pictures of both hands, haha.

Very Fall and Winter appropriate.

This was my favorite photo of all the photos I took of this 🙂

These photos were taken on 10/04/2012. Wow, it’s a bit hard for me to believe it was so long ago!

The base of this manicure was Sally Hansen’s Platinum, the Chevron-shaped French tips were painted on with Sally Hansen’s Black Out, and lastly, I layered Sinful Colors Opal Glitter over the entire nails. The Extreme Wear line by Sally Hansen always had nice flat and wide brushes, so it made it easy to just use their brush to paint Chevron French tips.

I have plenty more French manicures to eventually share on here, so be sure to stay tuned for those! Some are extremely unconventional and very interesting, to say the least, haha.

Couldn’t find Sinful Colors Opal Glitter, I’m assuming it’s probably discontinued. 🙁 At the moment I’m not sure of any other nail polishes that look precisely like it, but here’s one that I’ve used multiple times in the past as well, that’s a bit similar: Sally Hansen Disco Ball: https://amzn.to/46lW8hW

Winter Trees♥ 2015

Hello everyone! I’ve got a winter-themed design from 2015 to share with you today.

Trees in the snow♥

A super simple design for the winter season. I used Zoya’s Tove for the gray base, Zoya’s Purity for the snow, and black acrylic paint for the trees. I used a sponge to create the snow on the ground in the background and used a dotting tool for the snowflakes. Lastly, the trees were hand painted using a striping brush. As I said, super simple and easy to do!

My Valentine’s Day 2013 Manicure

Hello! How are you all doing today? I’m doing well, and I genuinely hope you are too! As you can tell by the title, today I have my Valentine’s Day Manicure from 2013! This year will mark the 10th anniversary of when I created this. 🙂

Mysimplelittlepleasures inspired this water marble design.

I remember this taking a very long time to do…

I remember this manicure taking forever to finish because I had to draw each design for each nail in the water and dip 10 times, one for each nail.

I used Wet n Wild’s Private Viewing and Zoya’s storm for this water marble. As always, everything that was used, and even some current favorites will be linked down below: for your convenience.

Valentine’s Day French Manicure from 2012

Hi, there! Today, I’ve got a super throwback manicure to share!

A Minnie Mouse-inspired French Manicure

Simple, yet cute.

This photo was definitely taken after I had been wearing this manicure for a while (you can see the slight tip-wear on some of the nails), but I just really liked the plant in the background of this photo, so I decided to share it anyways. 😉

As you can see, these photos were taken back during my earlier days of not only doing nail art but taking photos of my nail art, so they’re not the best quality, however, I do feel like that’s what makes looking back at these so nostalgic for me. 🙂 It goes to show that I’ve come pretty far with not only my nail art but also my picture-taking skills, haha. Also, keep in mind, all of my earlier pictures from back then were taken on my Android 3 camera phone… so, yeah. 🙂

For this manicure, I used Nubar 2010 for the base, China Glaze Ruby Pumps for the French Tips, and Zoya Purity for the polka dots.

I painted on the French Tips using the brush that comes with the nail polish, and I used a dotting tool to place the dots over the French Tips. For a little extra cuteness and sparkle, I also added a red heart-shaped rhinestone as a little accent to each nail.

Nubar’s 2010 was a pretty rare and difficult-to-find polish at the time of my first purchasing it 12 years ago in 2011… so uh yeah… I seriously don’t have a link for that one.

Zoya Purity: https://amzn.to/40HhJAn

I thought I’d be able to easily find some red heart-shaped rhinestones, but it turns out that I couldn’t find any the same size I used. The size I used was around 2mm, and all the ones I was finding were 3 mm and above, which I feel is a bit too large for this type of manicure.; however, if you want to use some that huge, here’s the link to some I found: https://ebay.us/tXfD69

Valentine’s Day Themed Watercolor Art 2013

Hello everyone. I’m back today with another manicure from many years ago, that I actually didn’t even originally create for Valentine’s Day, haha.

I thought these could easily go for a Valentine’s Day type of manicure…

This manicure was done sometime in early September of 2013, so it’s almost 10 years old!

To execute the watercolor technique, I used Sally Hansen’s Right Said Red as the base, white acrylic paint for the watercolor design, and I used Sally Hansen’s Sparkling Rose on various random parts of every nail for some extra sparkle.

To create the watercolor spots, I used a striper brush, acrylic paint, and water; I would dot a very small dot of the acrylic paint on the nail using the brush, then I would dip the brush in water and spread it as far as I wanted the watercolor spot to go. Using the same brush I placed spots of Sparkling Rose over various parts of each nail.

Although this manicure was created around Fall time, I think it’s very Valentine’s Day-appropriate, and it looks like it could have been created specifically for the holiday! I like these quite a bit

Valentine’s Day Design 4; From 2014

Hello! I’m back today with the last design of my unnamed Valentine’s Day series!

A black and gray water-marble.

Super abstract… teehee.

So apparently, these were also anti-valentine’s day themed nails like the 2nd design in this series. So I pretty much did two proper Valentine’s Day nails and two Anti-Valentine’s day nails… now why did I do that? I’m not exactly sure, but it was something different to do, haha. I certainly don’t vibe with the whole Anti-Valentine’s day stuff anymore honestly, but back then I found Anti-Valentine’s day themed very interesting. This manicure only used two nail polishes, Dove by Zoya and Black Crème by Wet n Wild.

I wrote in my notes that I added in some random black dots and hearts using a toothpick, and the same black nail polish I used for the water-marble.

Valentine’s Day Design 3; From 2014

Hello! I’m back today with part three of the four-part series!

So many nail polishes were used for this design...

It came out quite nice though.

Many nail polishes were used to make these, but as always I will try my best to link everything down below if you’d like to try the same nail polishes that I used. This design is a black and clear water marble over a bunch of different glitter polishes!

For the base of all the nails, I used Zoya Cassi.
The glitter nail polishes I used for the pink nails were: Butter London Rosie Lee, Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter, Zoya Kissy, Nicole by OPI Haley Good Lookin’… and Sally Hansen Razzle Dazzler.
And, the glitter nail polishes I used for the red nails were: China Glaze Ruby Pumps, China Glaze Pure Joy, and Sally Hansen Cha-Ching! Interestingly enough, I didn’t write down which black nail polish I used for the black and clear water marble, so, my guess is it was either Nicole by OPI Razzle Dazzler or Wet n Wild Black Creme; I used to use those two a lot for water marbles back then.

Valentine’s Day Design 2; From 2014

Hi there. Today, I’ve got the second design a part of my unnamed Valentine’s Day series from 2014…

This is the Anti-Valentine’s Day-themed nail art, lol.

My Anti-Valentine’s Day Themed Nail Art Lol

I never liked these that much… Lol.

To be 100% honest, I was never the biggest fan of these. I debated very hard on whether I wanted to post these or not. This is, indeed, the second design I came up with for the four-part series, and I thought It’d be weird to post the first part, and not the second, so here we go!

As far as what I used for this manicure, I wrote that I didn’t remember what I used for the base. 😑 This was done over nine years ago so, uh yeah… I did at least write down and remember the rest of what was used! I layered Fabulous Is My Middle Name by Nicole by OPI over whatever the base was, and for the border, hearts, and drips I used Stunning Scarlet by Sally Hansen.

Both of the nail polishes I mentioned here are discontinued, so much to my surprise, I was actually able to still find links to them!

Just another disclaimer: I would never post a link to something from someone I wouldn’t buy from myself. 😊

Valentine’s Day Design 1; From 2014

My first actual “post” on the reboot of my website. 🙂

A design that I did over nine years ago from a little mini-series I created with no particular name. This is the first design out of four that was a part of the series.

Thankfully, I still have details of what I used to create this:

A simple, yet lovely Valentine day themed water marble. 🙂 Right-hand shot.

Left-hand shot. 🙂

For the base, I applied two coats of China Glaze Red Satin.
And for the water marble, I used China Glaze Red Satin, China Glaze White Cap, & Zoya Purity.
After I allowed the water marble to dry a bit, I applied Sally Hansen Sparkling Rose on random areas of the design.
Then, I applied a layered of Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond.

Link to China Glaze Red Satin (this is a now discontinued nail polish, so it’s not guaranteed how long it’ll still be available. I apologize in advance if it’s not, let me know): N/A

Link to Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond (an all-time favorite glitter polish of mine): https://amzn.to/3sCVxe6

Sally Hansen Sparkling Rose is discontinued as well, and unfortunately, I couldn’t find it anywhere.

But as always, thanks for reading! ❤️
